Academic Support and Resources
Advising and tutoring made simple.
OU offers plenty of support to keep you on track-- from one-on-one advising to free tutoring and study resources. Use this section to find the right people and tools to help you plan, learn, and succeed.
Know your Advisors
At OU you will be supported by key resources including your assigned academic advisor, who helps with degree planning and requirements, and dedicated pre-health advisors, who specialize in guiding you toward your professional goals.
Finding your Academic Advisor
- Click here and scroll to "The Who-How-Where of Advising". You will see a bulleted list of each college. Click your college to learn more about finding specific advisors and advising resources.
📍Pro tip: you will be assigned an academic advisor so you shouldn't need to worry about finding them, but in the event that something goes awry these steps should help!
Contacting the Pre-Health Advisors
- OU has pre-professional advising broken down into PreMedical (medicine, dentistry, optometry, PA, veterinary medicine) professions advising and Health Professions (nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, allied health, etc.) advising.
- This link will take you to a page with information on how to contact both types of advisors.
Additional Advising Resources:
- The Dodge Student Success and Advising Center: The SSAC is specifically for students within the Dodge College of Arts and sciences and provides advising, success strategies, academic planning, and more to students! Nested within the Physical Sciences Center, we highly recommend you stop by!
- Class Nav: Class Nav is an online database produced by OU to help students see what classes are available each term. Though on-your-own, this is is a great resource when determining what classes to take to satisfy your major requirements, as well as satisfying prerequisites for your chosen pre-health career!
